The tension set design is a unique process in which no prongs are used to hold the center diamond in the ring. The diamond is set using 65 to 90 lbs. of pressure between the two sides of the ring. This process is as secure, if not more secure, than setting a diamond in a conventional six prong style head. It also allows for the most possible light to reach your diamond from all angles. Any shape diamond can be tension set, including some precious stones, such as ruby and sapphire. Mountings are available in 14kt. and 18kt. white and yellow gold as well as platinum.
