About Harold Finkle, Your JewelerHarold Finkle has been Your Jeweler, serving the capital region for over 70 years. Returning from service in World War II, Harold Finkle started his career in the jewelry industry as district manager of Rudolph Jewelers, overseeing seven of their forty-nine stores. Deciding to go out on his own, Harold, with the help of his wife Sarah, opened up a store on “the Ave,” Central Avenue in Albany. As Harold Finkle Your Jeweler gained customers and notoriety, Harold and Sarah decided to move from 207 to 217 Central Avenue. Harold became well established in the community as the President of the Central Avenue Merchants Association, Boy Scout Troop Master, and proud sponsor of the Albany Twilight League, for which an award is handed out every year in his honor. Harold and Sarah soon welcomed their son Marty and daughter-in-law Paula into the business in 1972. Marty became very active in the local community, following in his father footsteps as the President of the Central Avenue merchants, and as one of the founding members of the Police Athletic League (“P.A.L.”). Marty and Paula soon expanded the store to encompass 217, 219, and 221 Central Avenue. In time, Harold Finkle Your Jeweler decided to find a stand alone location on “the Ave” with easier accessibility for its customers. In 1995, Finkle Jewelers moved to its current location, 1585 Central Avenue in Colonie, on the corner of Central Avenue and Mordella. Since then Marty and Paula’s son, Justin, has entered into the business, with the intent of one day taking over the reigns and keeping the Finkle name one synonymous with quality and trust.
